    Tony Zeng,

    Dear Wolf,

How is your weekend? Looks like you are having a
fabulous life at Reno. No wonder you are
``poverty-stricken'' -- you are loosening your purse
    string too much....

Time to roll up my sleeves and dive into the pro
    market!

I started my Bloomberg life on Tuesday -- the moment I
sit on my new desk, I knew a hectic daily schedule is
    set in place.

Adding twists to the drama is Rita following the heels
    of Katrina.

Folks in Wall St are now spliting about the impact of
Mother Nature on economy. Some place their bets on the
hurricanes putting a brake on the U.S. consumption and
business, while others jump over and look instead at
possible inflationary bubbles in the diasters' wake.

Uncertainty is the best fodder for melodrama in
financial markets. And it is interesting to buzz
investors, traders and dealers around on their takes
    on the effects.

One of the biggest challenges confronting me is the
fact that I am an alien -- which means I need to
double my energy to decode what interviewees say --
not just the trade jargons, but slang words.

And sometimes my tougue just slips and could not get
it back -- befuddling my interviewees, and in turn,
making me more nervous. The interviewee on the other
side of the line may not know that my hand holding the
handset is already filled with sweat.(Wolf's note: 原来曾牛人也如此,那我还不算太烂,hh)

But it is lots of fun. The financial stuff is new and
complicated -- which means I can learn something new
    and pratical.

It is really a sense of pride when you can crack into
the inner working of the biz and trade, a feeling that
you can dream the impossible dream and complete a
    mission impossible...

Covering finance also holds me up to the essence of
    news -- truth and accuracy.

Everytime when I write something up, I have to remind
myself -- a mishap would cause investors tens of
millions of dollars! Some of the folks rely on the
nest eggs for retirement and some lock it up for
emergency fund -- they may need to cash to send a kid
to colleage or pay a hefty healthcare bill.

So be attentive to every detail and make it right!

All right, talk to you later and stay tuned.

Hope both of us can have a better day and better life
    in the future!

    Tony Min Zeng

  • Tony Zeng
